Liebe's name is very fitting for her. Liebe (rhymes with Ebay) means "love" in German. Liebe LOVES everyone who is invited on to our property. She'll leave your face wet from all of her big kisses. She is our social butterfly to people and their pets. However, that lovable side quickly goes away when she is on the heels of a dog who has wondered uninvited and unannounced on to our property. Instintively, she is a good protector for us both on and off of our property. We take her running 4+ miles several times a week. During these running sessions she has provided invaluable protection for us when an aggressive dog has come after on us on the street. Upon command, Liebe wasted no time putting the aggressive dog in his rightful place, i.e, running away with his tail between his legs. For entertainment, Liebe likes to fetch, chase rabbits, herd the cows behind our property, play with Von, and patiently lie in the grass while her master works on the lawn. Liebe's grandparents hail from Germany where a German Shepherd must perform before it can be bred. Her German ancestors have received titles in Schutzhund (tracking, obedience, protection) and herding. Some titles were at Advanced and Master levels.
